He’s all blocky, flatly textured and looks hilariously out of place in the immaculately detailed Super Mario Odyssey. Instead of the gorgeously rendered character seen on-screen for the duration of the game, the Super Mario 64 hat and clothes downscale him. This makes Mario look exactly as he did in Super Mario 64, albeit in HD. One of the most fun costumes though is the Super Mario 64 costume. You can be a chef, pirate, topless, an astronaut, a cowboy and more. Super Mario Odyssey is the first Mario title to let players change the hero’s clothes.
